Screen Print Operator
Successful minority-owned small commercial printing company in downtown Baltimore seeks a full-time Apparel Production Associate/Screen Printer to join our Operations team. The Apparel Production Associate/Screen Printer will play a crucial role in the production of custom-printed apparel, promotional items, and other materials. You will be responsible for operating screen-printing equipment, preparing screens, mixing inks, and ensuring the quality of the final product. You will also operate Direct To Film (DTF) equipment and advise the Sales and Customer Service team on the best printing method for the individual customer’s desired product. We are looking for a hardworking, reliable candidate who is passionate about apparel printing, has an eye for detail, and is dedicated to producing high-quality results.
Here’s what you will be responsible for:

Set up and operate screen-printing equipment and direct-to-film equipment to produce apparel and promotional orders

Mix and adjust inks to match color specifications

Perform quality control checks to ensure accurate registration, ink consistency, and print quality

Maintain a clean and organized work area

Work with production team to meet production goals and deadlines, package orders for shipping, and assist with machine operation and bindery/finishing as needed

Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues and quality issues

Cross-train other members of the production team and participate in cross-training as assigned

Participate in Innovation Team to research and recommend new equipment and services
Who are we looking for?
-
Prior experience in screen printing, especially in a commercial print shop environment

Prior experience in Direct to Film printing is a plus

Proficiency in screen printing techniques, including screen preparation, registration, and ink mixing

Knowledge of ink types and their applications

Ability to work with precision and attention to detail, predicting issues and solving problems to avoid reprints

Able to stay calm and work quickly under deadline pressure in a tight-turn-time environment with competing priorities. We need to be able to rely on each other and have no time for drama or slackers.

Strong communication skills – able to interpret detailed work orders, proofread for errors, communicate with customer service staff and give updates to management on order statuses

Able to take responsibility for your own mistakes and learn from them, as well as challenge others to improve without casting blame

This job requires being on your feet for most of the day. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay range: $21-$23 per hour depending upon prior experience.
Candidates must be able to work Monday-Friday, 8:30am – 5pm. This is NOT a remote position; we need someone to work these hours in our office in downtown Baltimore every day.
